(3) Payment by Government for passages of married officers,

who are permitted by Government to have their families

in Hong Kong, will be limited to the cost of four full

fares.

(4) If the officer is permitted to proceed on leave or

pension before completing three years' resident service

he will be required to contribute towards the cost of

the passages appropriate to his case a sum bearing to such cost the same proportion as the period by which

his resident service falls short of three years bears to three years. Provided that in exceptional circum- stances and with the special permission of the Governor such contribution may be waived in whole or in part. (5) In the case of an officer's death his family will be

given single passages to Wei Hai Wei the number of full

fares not to exceed three.
